In 1845, Jean-Marie Martin purchased the habitation Fonds-Préville in Macouba, northern Martinique, to start producing rum that he quite simply named with his own initials: JM
As the smallest and longest standing distillery of the island still in operation, the years of experience have made JM rum the most prestigious of all the agricultural Old rums from Martinique.
JM extra old XO rum is made with a blend of at least six year old rhums. It’s golden color with lemon reflections is a prelude to its spicy, fruity nose. On the palate, JM XO rum is round and fresh, with hints of acidity and spicy flavors exploding half way – black pepper and nutmeg. The final is warm, long and spicy.
