Info:
ALMOST SPRING is a new style of rum by NINE LEAVES aged in cabernet sauvignon wine-barrels imported from Wente Vineyards in California. Staying true to it’s origins, the resulting color is slightly reddish or “pink gold” from the red wine.
Early spring, NINE LEAVES CLEAR was stored in barrels and aged for 1 year through the ups and downs of climate change in the mountains of Shiga prefecture. With a hint of sweetness, genshu-like aroma, and distinctive berry flavor from the wine barrels, this is truly a one-of-a-kind rum.
Since ancient times, the word “spring” in Japan represented the beginning of something new. Released in Spring of 2015, the name “ALMOST SPRING” hopes to evoke the same feelings of excitement and warmth that one feels as spring nears.
Scent : Ripe mango, toast with honey, floral, smoky
Taste : Slight tannin and young berry flavor sweeps through but instantaneously dissipates the moment it enters the mouth. Fruitiness gradually turns into notes of citrus peel, slight spiciness of ginger and floral violet.
Finish : Unsweetened marmalade, cinnamon, herbal tea
