Dark orange, almost ruby red.
Extremely estery (fermented fruit), with coffee, cola, white pepper and black tea.
Soft, chewy, with a sweetness that’s partly masked by the aromatic notes of medicinal herbs (chamomile, small gentian), liquorice, pepper and wood. Warm, slightly smoky and phenolic.
Getting slowly spicier, deeper, with more notes of coffee, liquorice and herbal liqueur, and even a winey feeling like in Barolo Chinato.
Definitely ripe, complex and satisfying. A very balanced rum, dark and intense, in which the aromatic components perfectly balance the background sweetness. Finished for the last eight years in Oloroso sherry
