Info: Foursquare Distillery is located in the south-east of the island and was built in 1996 by the Seale family, to produce very qualitative rums without additional flavors. Foursquare’s rums are really special, because it’s the result of pot still and column still rums aged in ex-bourbon barrels.
This rum, distilled in December 1998, was aged in the Tropics until 2004, and then imported into Europe.
Available in France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, Andorra, Denmark, Sweden
Nose: really intense and very rich nose with tonnes of ripe bananas and roasted almonds, but also a lot of grassy undertones. It has a soft touch of vanilla, carefully packaged in an oaken veil
Taste: very creamy and buttery profile, with an abundance of ripe bananas with caramel sauce. Even a little banana peel peaked in. Then velvety soft, layer of oak and vanilla, with roasted almonds notes. On the back end, a dash of cinnamon
Finish: short and heated. More bananas, more caramel and a little oak
