Sugar cane has been grown for many years in Nicaragua. In 1890 a company was established to develop a plantation on the Pacific Coast at Chichigalpa, an area ideal for growing cane.
In 1937 the Compania Licorera de Nicaragua SA was formed dedicated to production of fine rum. From column stills a light, delicate and fruity rum is produced, much of which is drunk young or mixed with cocktails. The rum we now offer has enjoyed extended maturation in American Oak cask and this combines additional complexity with its natural style.
Pale gold in colour, a soft tropical fruity nose combines with sweet round flavours on the palate touched with banana and soft oak. A well-balanced finish gives this rum an attractive style and makes it an ideal aperitif to enjoy as a long drink.
